Folk songs, new tunes, dance moves!

For parents to come and sing folk songs from around the world, dance, listen and shake it up with your babies and toddlers.

As much for the parents as little ones, so suitable for those with babes in arms and toddlers! - it is a mix of a therapeutic sing with many harmonies, a joyful dance around together and a bit of cello. Founded and run by cellist singer Tara Franks.

Drop in any week and pay on the door - £8 (adult + little one) - additional adults +£5

The Sunday afternoon Tots Tunes shake ups will continue monthly in the gorgeous venue of Saint Barnabas Dalston. Come and join a joy-filled Tots Tunes workshop - with live music and a chance to sing, listen to, and dance along to folk songs from around the world, rounds and Tots Tunes original songs, all with your little ones and families. A great Sunday activity as much for the adults as little ones

Vox Voices - Summer Sings 4 week course (June& July)

Breathe, Sing, Harmonise, Improvise

 A 4 -week course of collective singing, find your voice together with a joyful, supportive group of women.

For this course we will focus on collective improvising, creating harmonies together, all alongside learning a cappella songs from the Vox Voices repertoire.

Tots Tunes on Tour - The exciting new full band format of Tots Tunes!

Tots Tunes was founded at Vortex Jazz Club In Hackney 10 years ago!! - the brainchild of cellist & creative leader Tara Franks - she set up these Interactive, creative parent and baby classes with the aim to provide a space for parents to connect and feel like they had something creative & joyful to do for themselves as well as with their little ones. The classes - part songs from around the world, original tunes and a whole lot of dance moves are all accompanied by Tara on cello, percussion & voice!

There has been wonderful feedback over the years and parents returning with 2nd and 3rd babies as well as continually recommending to friends…

TOTS TUNES ON TOUR - Full band family gig

To celebrate 10 years and the release of the 2nd album ‘Moonshine & Butterflies’ - Tara has gathered an amazing 5-piece band of top class musicians. from the folk, jazz scene, to create a family show featuring all the favourite Tots Tunes songs with all the harmonies, percussion and string parts flowing.

Alongside Tara, the band will feature Bernhard Shimplesbelrger (percussion), Preetha Narayanan (violin/voice), Francesca Ter-berg (cello/voice), Flora Curzon (Violin/voice) - bringing an exciting expanded version of the repertoire of world, folk and new music to audiences big & small.

Come and join this celebration at one of the exciting launch gigs - this is a family gig so older children ae welcome too (up to approx 7yrs)

The Beacon, Hastings - Thursday 21st July - 4pm

The Sanctuary, Walthamstow, London - Saturday. 23rd July - 3pm

MORE ABOUT TOTS TUNES:

Over the years Tots Tunes has seen a footfall of around 20,000 people big & small coming through to sing and shake, Tots Tunes (SCP) has enjoyed collaborations with Nest Collective, National Trust, The Green House, Dartington Arts , Bright Foundation along with clothing brands Little House of Vild and Mama Owl.

Tots Tunes has also featured at the London Jazz Festival, on BBC6 Music, gained commissions with Johnson & Johnson, released two much lauded albums.

Thanks tto Arts Council England Project Grant support (2021), Tara has been able to create a full band interactive Tots Tunes show - Tots Tunes on Tour - to tour alongside the newly released 2nd Album ‘Moonshine and Butterflies’ (December 2021) and new animations for the Tots Tunes YouTube channel.
