Tara launched her new project VoxSling in January 2026 - thanks to support from Sound Connections.
The first 4-week pilot course was free for all to attend and ran in partnership with East Sussex Early days & the Clifton Centre, along with support from The Mothership Antenatal. This special new course focuses on the well-being of new and pregnant mothers (pre and postpartum) through group singing, movement and breathwork, alongside discussions around birth prep, breast feeding and the journey into motherhood.
Tara will be running a second course this March 2026 in another local community centred venue - returning mothers and new mothers encouraged!
Tuesdays 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th March 2026
10am - 11am
@ The Crown Hastings
(for pregnant and new mothers with babes in arms/slings - under 8 months)
WHAT IS VOXSLING?
A new weekly series of nurturing and creative Singing workshops for pregnant and new mothers with part harmony songs, gentle movement and breathwork.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE WORKSHOPS:
Tara will lead the group through a series of gentle breathing exercises and some movement.
We will learn a collection of easy yet satisfying part harmony songs - so you will have a bank of songs to continuing singing at home - you don't need to be a confident singer to join!
These workshops are for you the parents and soon to be parents, with your babes-in-arms being bathed in sound (Sling wearing encouraged to support movement)
Why singing? - there is so much research into the benefits of singing for new mothers, and in turn the support singing can have on language and emotional development of your child and soon to be born child.
With thanks to our funders for the pilot course January 2026 and subsidised ticket costs
Tara Franks (VoxSling) - supported by Sound Connections.
